What’s the best way to build a website?

I’m a musician and want to have a website. I’m a classical performer and teacher/clinician. I don’t have much experience with website technology but would like to build my own, if it’s possible to build a nice website with minimal frustration. What website-building programs do you recommend, and what elements do you think I should include on my site?

I recommend Microsoft Front Page. It’s an easy program with a lot of templates and tools.

I suggest you use Wordpress. It is quite easy to learn, allows you to do lots of things on your website, change it wherever you want and add content easily. It also has lots of free templates for the deign of your site.
To make things easier find a provider that offers automatic installation of the program (it is a program that runs on the server not on your pc).

you should consider myspace to present your music. also you can joomla or wordpress. check my source, you can get really cheap web hosting there, as well as 1-click install programs like the ones i’ve just told you about. it’s really easy!! good luck with your plans.

To create a complete website, you may need:
1. Sever
You may rent one → web hosting provider
You may buy one → set one computer as your sever
If you would like to rent one, this is a good option for you~

They provide free trial so that you may confirm if they could satisfy you.
2. Arrange plentiful contents at right place in your website:
Upload the website with website edition software page by page to the sever
Complete the web page with automatic programming language system

By the way, do maintain your website confusing you?
(It’s really a hard thing for me because I have never learned dreamweaver befor~ ha!)
If YES, this would help you to maintain your website without any website edit software such as dreamweaver and frontpage easily and rapidly.

3. Apply for a domain name, such as http://www.tsmmc.com:
Transfer your domain name to your server with DNS server
Then, the website is done!
4. Marketing (Optional)
You may need some marketing solutions for promoting your website.
Keyword Ad is a good choice for you to save your pocket because it counts per click.
That means that it’s free when your ads are seen.
You need to pay only when the audience click and enter your website truly.
