  1. First, is this a sole proprietorship, LLC, etc.? I recommend the protection of an LLC. I have done web design work on my own, but I know that an LLC will be able to serve you well in order to distinguish your personal assets from business assets if there is ever a lawsuit.

And, if you do form an LLC you will have to have an original name. For example, say that it is incorporated in Missouri. Say you want “Bob’s Web Design, LLC”. If there is already such a company in Missouri then you will not be able to choose it. So, do a little research first.

Remember your product, not your name, is the most important part.

Consider asking advice on online forums about a business name.

  2. Choose a name that your customers will remember and hopefully relate with.

Try not to get lost in the clutter.

If you are artistic, and the driving force in design, maybe your “name-web design”.

Here are a few non-checked names of the top of my head.

    Purple Orchard Web Design

    Blue Fish Design

    Golden Key web design

    Marble-Fish web site design

    …..

    Good luck!
